Lesson Learned

I just got off the phone from wishing my Uncle a Happy 89th Birthday. I made a suggestion that he used a harness rather than a collar to secure his canine buddy, Scooter when they went for rides in the car. He thanked me for the suggestion and said, "You are never too old to learn new things."

That wisdom made me feel better about learning the hard way that you should listen to the Vet. They told us not once but twice to put a cone on Ruby to keep her away from the stitches, then staples from her growth removal surgery. I thought I would just watch her, but then I didn't think about maybe taking a shower or checking my e-mail....etc.

Ruby is now wearing a cone. The wound looks better and I learned a lesson. Now, I just have to make sure she doesn't get the cone off.

Oh well, I can take a shower next week! (Just kidding, or course. Great Guy is nice to give me a break)

Hi KC!
Great to *see* you again! We don't know much about trends or fashion here but like to write (and dream!) about them!

Do hope Ruby's better now. Regards to Rusty too!

xxLOLA & Nora:)
PS Wonderful blog header!

You were just trying to spare Ruby the ordeal. Dogs look so sad with those cones. I think about how I would feel, and then how much worse I would feel if I could see no reason for being made to wear it.

Lola and Nora-Thanks for the well wishes. She seems to be getting better each day.

Snow- You are so right. I just couldn't stand the look on her face with it on. But then when she wouldn't leave herself alone I had no choice.

Poor baby. She looks a little sad but I'm sure she's grateful to have her Momma keeping such a good eye on her recovery. Relieved to hear you might be taking a shower sometime soon. :))

PS: I love the new look of your blog. Come up here and teach me how!

Kate, Thanks for checking on Ruby but I haven't left the house since Monday and I really missed FAC today! Good luck with the show next week.

For the blog I just followed the directions from Grace up until you put your photos on Picasa. That is the reason my photos are still small. I'm thinking I might change over to the Mac web-site stuff in the future so this is as far as I'm going for now.
