Snow, I wasn't the only one. I think the guys at the park got up on the roof, lifted the nest down to the ground and they hatched there. I wasn't there but I assume that is what happened since the nest was on the ground and I saw these babies the next day. They probably would have been OK like you said but a little intervention made it less stressful for us watching out for them.
